Our Mills & Woodworking Workshop

We produce custom lumber, beams, siding material, mantels, thick slab bench tops, wood blocks for turning and many other milled lumber pieces. We can mill recycled barn wood beams for new usage in homes, but require the wood to be first checked with a sensitive metal detector. Nails, screws and any type of metal hardware left forgotten in a tree or recycled beam can damage or destroy our saw blades. Wood free of metal hardware, dirt and grit is essential to keeping milling costs down. Our milled wood is rough lumber but we can plane milled wood up to 16 inches in width and thickness  for an additional cost. Maximum length our stationary mill can handle is  32 ft. Blue-stain beetle kill pine, white wood pine, spruce and fir are the predominant woods locally available.  Special custom orders are welcome. Blue-stain pine turning blanks and various size pine blank packages are available for sale. Contact us for pricing.

Our Mills

We hope to add some more photos soon that will show more of the process of taking a log to lumber. The log being processed in the photos below has already had the rounded sides with the bark removed and has been squared up for cutting into boards.

This mill has 40 feet of track and can mill beams up to 32 feet in length or several shorter log lengths at a time as shown.

Once the wood is cut to the desired thickness, the pieces are placed for cutting any remaining bark off the edges.

Our long mill track makes it possible to do edging at the same time additional boards are being milled.

This saves time and additional handling of the wood speeding up the milling process.

Our Woodworking Workshop

We build custom recycled Pine wood products such as signs, assorted boxes, tea racks, totes & wine carriers, wind chimes, rustic hat racks, quilt racks, benches, stools, bee hive parts, turned bowls, vases and Christmas ornaments. We create and produce new products every year.  We also produce products from recycled Aspen wood such as vases, candle holders, boxes, walking sticks, and more. We make some products with spruce and fir when we have those varieties of wood on hand.

Wood carving and/or custom hand-painting, staining ad finishing are standard on our products although we do produce some items that are unfinished for customers who want to do the finish work themselves.
